It dates back to the year 1831.

In that year, Governor Francisco García Salinas ordered the construction of an Alameda where the people of Zacatecas could enjoy a stroll with trees and music.

Throughout its history, it underwent several transformations, including a quarry balustrade and a mosaic of walkways and benches in 1940.

To this day, it has managed to maintain its provincial atmosphere, and the tradition continues with the famous "Mañanitas de Abril," when music fills the place from early morning.

master Manuel Felguérez, "Cuando Muere la Tarde" (When Evening Dies).

Several cultural events take place in the Alameda, including the Book and Reading Fair.
