It starts at the intersection of Calle 47 and 56 and ends at the well-known Monumento a la Patria.

Designed in the style of the Champs-Élysées in Paris, it was born in the 20th century during the heyday of the henequen industry.

It is lined with leafy trees and beautiful mansions with majestic facades.

This wide avenue was built in honor of the founder of the city of Mérida, Francisco de Montejo y León.

Today, almost a century after its inauguration, it preserves only some of its original residences, surrounded by shops, offices of all kinds, banks, hotels, and travel agencies. Additionally, it is a tourist area with a vibrant nightlife, thanks to the numerous restaurants you can find along the entire avenue.

Along Paseo Montejo, you can enjoy a pleasant ride in a traditional horse-drawn carriage.
