Tourist Attractions in Teapa
Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Built between 1712 and 1725 by the Jesuits using stone from the Teapa River. The façade consists of a single body, with a prominent round-arched entrance. It has a single tower where the bell tower is located.
Santiago Apóstol Temple
This was the second temple built in the city in the 18th century. In 1896, a clock was added between the two bell towers, and at the beginning of the 20th century, a wrought-iron fence was installed. This temple was destroyed by Garrido's forces and was rebuilt in 1937.
Iglesia del Señor de Esquipulas
This church, dating from the 17th century, venerates the "Black Christ" and was the only temple not destroyed during the Garrido era, as it was used as a military barracks. It is characterized by its bell towers, which form an arch with three bells of different sizes.
