Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve
A wide area of wetlands considered among the most important in the world due to the variety of their ecosystems and their biodiversity. It has 39 species of fish, 125 bird species, 50 mammals and 60 amphibians.
Along the walk through the mangroves it is very easy to see ibis, herons, storks, toucans, crocodiles, manatees, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, and turtles, among other species.
Here is located the Uyotot-Ja Interpretation Center with its Water House Museum that illustrates the ecosystem of the swamps. The adventure includes a boat ride through the mangroves in Tres Brazos, which is where the San Pedro, Grijalva and Usumacinta rivers meet.
