It is a protected area with wonderful mangroves that harbor a rich ecosystem, including hundreds of water birds.

It has the tallest lighthouse in Yucatan. Despite its almost virgin beaches, it offers cabin services and restaurants. 

Boat rides can be rented to take a tour and observe the regional wildlife.
