The channel connects the Pánuco River and Laguna del Carpintero.
The channel features five pedestrian bridges and six vehicular bridges.
It is also known as Paseo de Cortadura and is part of a recreational park that has been remodeled in recent years, creating various public spaces in its surroundings.
You can take a boat ride along the channel and enjoy various landscapes, such as mangroves and a great variety of birds that inhabit the Carpintero lagoon. You can also enjoy urban environments that include murals created by local artists and buildings like the Municipal Market.
On the banks of the channel, you'll find a variety of restaurants, cafes, and shops, as well as planters that beautify the channel, children's playgrounds, bike lanes, and walking paths where you can relax in the midst of this pleasant environment.
As a place where both locals and visitors gather, it is also used for various activities, both cultural and artistic, so it is not uncommon to have concerts, regional dances, or even celebrations like the Day of the Dead.
