Through its narrow streets, you can delve into the past.
In this world of beautiful squares with picturesque churches built over 400 years ago, you can find art galleries, restaurants with outdoor terraces, bookstores, and boutiques.
This is one of the most traditional areas of the city. Its privileged location allowed it to be a pre-Hispanic center on the shores of the ancient lake, a seat of power during the reconstruction of Tenochtitlán. As for the colonial era, magnificent houses were established in this neighborhood around a 16th-century Franciscan foundation. Explore the area with a guide who will tell you the history of Coyoacán, from the settlement of the first communities in the Mesoamerican highlands to its rise to power after the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors.
Coyoacán has been the home of many distinguished figures such as Leon Trotsky, Octavio Paz, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Celia Nutall, and Salvador Novo. Their presence is tangible not only in what were their houses but also in the intense cultural life that unfolds in theaters, schools, and galleries.
Coyoacán is located in the southern part of Mexico City and offers first-class services, such as a shopping plaza, Olympic facilities, and a tree-lined nursery where you can go for a run or buy plants.
