A UNESCO World Heritage since 2007.

Built between 1949 and 1952, it is located in the south of Mexico City and covers over 700 hectares. The central campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is composed of a complex of buildings, sports facilities, and open spaces.

The monumental modernist complex is the result of the collaboration of over 200 of the country's best architects, engineers, and artists. Among them are Mario Pani, Enrique del Moral, Carlos Lazo, Alberto T. Arai, Ramón Torres, Pedro Ramírez Vázquez, Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Francisco Eppends, Félix Candela, and Javier Barros Sierra, among others.

The buildings were integrated into the landscape, and artistic elements with clear references to the country's pre-Hispanic past were incorporated.

The National Autonomous University of Mexico is the oldest university on the American continent and is recognized as one of the top institutions of higher education in Latin America.

Its natural environment, composed of volcanic lava and unique vegetation, served as inspiration for some of the artists who participated in the creation of this complex, such as Diego Rivera, who was in charge of the murals in the Olympic Stadium.

Notable features include the mural covering the four sides of the library, created by Juan O'Gorman, and the murals by David Alfaro Siqueiros in the Rectorate Tower.
