Its history dates back to pre-Hispanic times when it was a settlement known as Ornac.

In 1540, a small hermitage was erected, and the square was the atrium of the temple.

The current chapel dates from 1740 and is surrounded by beautiful trees that create a pleasant atmosphere of tranquility.

It is a place where you can sit on one of its benches to read or relax since the square has a calm and welcoming environment where lush trees like capulines, truenos, and jacarandas provide shade.

In the surroundings, you will find pleasant restaurants, a small theater, and the Jesús Reyes Heroles House of Culture.
