Gulf of Mexico Beaches
Located to the west of the Yucatan Peninsula.
These beaches are part of the Celestún Biosphere Reserve.
It is a natural paradise with extensive beaches lined with coconut trees and mangroves, habitat to a large number of migratory birds. More than 400 species can be found in the area. This wildlife sanctuary is one of the two places in Mexico where pink flamingos nest, feed, and reproduce.
Here, there is a small fishing community surrounded by various natural beauties.
On the beach, you can rent a boat to explore the estuaries amid mangroves and discover this beautiful corner of the peninsula, including the stunning pink flamingos.
Regarding the beaches, there are two, Ximxim and Celestún, both with white sand and tranquil emerald-colored waves. Since they are not heavily visited, they are a great option to relax and enjoy the scenery. Due to the clarity of the waters, you can observe colorful fish and a variety of birds, such as pelicans and cormorants.
