It was built in 1865 during the Porfiriato era.

Like several other buildings in Cuautla, it has a story to tell, as it witnessed the Siege of Cuautla and was set on fire during the revolutionary movement in 1910.

The structure stands out with a national coat of arms, the effigy of José María Morelos, and a plaque where Emiliano Zapata's body was displayed in 1919.

Additionally, two rooms at the entrance of the building are dedicated to the city's most important historical events, such as the Siege of Cuautla during the Independence movement and Emiliano Zapata, a significant figure of the Revolution.
