AMEALCO DE BONFIL

Amealco is the ideal place to enjoy nature with Los Gallos hill and the Calvario hill, where excursions of one or more days are organized. In the area you can also visit the Servín Lagoon, an ideal place for boat rides and recreational fishing.

JALPAN DE SERRA

Sótano del Barro

It has no similarity with caves, it is rather like an enormous 455 m (1,493 ft) deep, gaping pocket. This is a very deep basement that has not been explored much, so the visit requires great experience and skill in the arts of exploring this type of natural formations. Its dimensions are impressive, since it is a crater with a diameter of about 500 m and a depth of 450 m almost vertically. To get there you must be accompanied by a guide. Located in Arroyo Seco an hour and a half from Jalpan de Serra.

SAN JOAQUÍN

Cañón del Paraíso (Canyon)

It is located about 3 km west of Peñamiller and an hour and a half from San Joaquín. The road runs parallel to a deep canyon called del Paraíso, whose walls are made of black marble.

At the bottom of the precipice are the waters of the Extoraz River, which occasionally lend themselves to navigation. The imposing rock walls, which reach 100 m in height, are the ideal place to practice rappelling. The place is of great beauty and in its surroundings it is possible to camp.

Aventura Park

This is a place surrounded by mountains covered with wooded vegetation and is ideal for rappelling, as well as other activities such as mountain biking. It is located 20 minutes from San Joaquin.
