A TOWN WITH STAGGERING BACKDROP, THE THIRD-LARGEST MONOLITH IN THE WORLD
It is located at the foot of the imposing Peña de Bernal, which has become the icon of this small town, whose full name is San Sebastián Bernal.
It is a true haven of tranquility, ideal for relaxing, and according to local traditions, you can recharge your energy due to its location and characteristics.
Its cobbled, steep, and labyrinthine streets offer colorful houses and pleasant squares: La Atarjea, with the Chapel of the Souls, and La Explanada, at the base of the rock formation.
In the surroundings, you can visit some of the attractive vineyards of Querétaro.
It is located 58 km (50 minutes) from the city of Querétaro and 227 km (3 hours and 15 minutes) from Mexico City.

Capilla de Ánimas (Chapel)
In the Chapel of the Souls, there is a small museum that displays maps, photographs, and paintings that narrate the history of Bernal.
Parroquia de San Sebastián Mártir (Parish)
Another must-visit, as it is a construction dating back to the 18th century with a sober neoclassical facade.
El Castillo (The Castle)
It is an old prison with a peculiar Moorish architecture reminiscent of an Arab fortification. This construction dates back to the 16th century, and its front tower features a clock of German origin. Currently, it houses municipal offices.
Museo de la Máscara (Masks Museum)
It has a collection of over 300 pieces from all over the world, although there is a good number of masks made by local artists. Some pre-Hispanic pieces are also exhibited here.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Museo del Cine Nacional “Rosalío Solano” (National Film Museum)
The museum offers an exhibition of photographs and awards given to this cinematographer native to this Magical Town.

Casa Museo del Dulce (Sweet Museum)
It is a witness to the tradition of making delicious sweets based on goat's milk. Here, you can taste traditional wafers and custards while learning about the history of the sweets, some of which date back to pre-Hispanic times.
Dancing Fountains
In the evenings, you cannot miss the spectacle of the dancing fountains, which combine music and color at the foot of the Peña, creating a unique setting.
It takes place on weekends, on Fridays at 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Wineries
In the surrounding areas, for wine enthusiasts, you can visit Cava Freixenet, which produces sparkling wines, as well as Viñedos Azteca and Viñedos La Redonda.
