This house belonged to Mrs. Dolores Olmedo, a great promoter of arts and culture in Mexico.

Between 1956 and 1957, when Diego Rivera, a long-time friend of Mrs. Olmedo, came to live in her summer house in Acapulco due to his illness (cancer), he created his last works there. These include several sunsets, a mural on the ceiling depicting a seascape with Dolores Olmedo as a mermaid surrounded by four stars, as well as a toad-frog figure symbolizing Diego Rivera, offering his beloved a heart and a palette.

The most significant work in this place is found on the main facade of the house, where Exekatlkalli or Ehecatlcalli (the house of the god Echécatl) is depicted. This mural covers 70 square meters of the residence. Likewise, Diego Rivera depicted the Aztec gods Quetzalcoátl (God of War) and Tláloc (God of Rain) in relief.
