Chipinque Ecological Park
It has four summits that are frequently visited by those who like mountaineering. In the ascent you can have incredible panoramic views of Cerro de la Silla, Cerro del Mirador and Las Mitras.
If you want to reach its summits, take into account that the journey to get to Copete de Águilas, the highest point, takes 10 hours, to get to La Ventana it takes 7 hours, to the M it takes 8 hours and to Las Antenas 6 hours. In all four cases, the difficulty can be classified as intermediate, so you do not need much experience for this adventure that involves walking on trails, but you need good physical condition.
Cumbres de Monterrey National Park
With its 246,500 hectares, it is the largest in Mexico. Cumbres owes its name to the splendid mountainous formations of the Sierra Madre Oriental in this region, which are home to lush oak forests and a varied flora and fauna. It is a hot area in the summer, but with frequent snowfalls during the winter.
Due to its topography and biological characteristics, it is an ideal place to practice mountaineering.
Nido de Aguiluchos
Located in La Huasteca Park, it combines mountaineering and rappelling, which makes the adventure unforgettable. It takes approximately six hours to get to the top and from there you can enjoy an impressive view of the Huasteca.
Cañón de la Esmeralda (Emerald Canyon)
It is located in Jonuco and this adventure involves mountaineering and canyoning. You descend into an almost virgin canyon with rappels of up to 50 m (164 ft).
The reward for all the challenges of the journey are the wonderful panoramic views. It is recommended for people with good physical condition and who like adventure.
