El Palmito Caves

El Palmito Caves

Explore the El Palmito Caves, just 7 minutes from Bustamante, famous for its endless wells and caverns, it is quite an adventure, it also has tourist walkways that allow you to explore the caves even if you are not an expert in this sport.

Grutas de García (García Caves)

These caves offer an impressive spectacle that begins with a cable car ride that travels 650 m (2,132 ft) to reach a height of 1,100 m (3,609 ft) in 10 minutes. They are the most visited in the state and according to experts their rock formations date back more than 60 million years. You can visit 16 halls of surprising formations. They are located in the town of Villa de García in the middle of a rocky and desert landscape, just one hour from Monterrey.

Another option is to observe the thousands of bats at dusk and upon their return at dawn from the Cueva de los Murciélagos (Bat Cave) viewpoint.

MONTERREY

Cueva de los Cristales (Crystal Cave)

It is located in the Cerro de las Mitras, just half an hour from Monterrey. It has amazing mineral formations. It is a place that seems magical since you feel in a fortress made with thousands of crystals. Five galleries are typically explored in a tour that lasts approximately two hours.

Mina de las Escaleras (Stairs Mine)

This is part mine and part cave and can be visited at any time of the year. The exploration is for people who already have some experience and can cover up to 9 kilometers, which will require two rappels, a climb and of course a hike. They are located 15 minutes from Monterrey.

Cueva del Ahorcado (Hangman's Cave)

It is located on the Cerro de las Mitras, half an hour from Monterrey. This place has the peculiarity that it is partly a mine and partly a cave. Inside you will discover vaults, water wells and also the remains of the abandoned mine.

Cueva La Voladora (The Flying Cave)

This cave is also part of the mine and is also located on the Cerro de la Mitras, half an hour from Monterrey. Inside this cavity you can explore several vaults and do an exciting 35 m (115 ft)rappel.
