GUADALAJARA
Cueva Bandaleros
It is located near Chiquilistlan, 105 km from Guadalajara. The cave is of karstic origin and one of its peculiarities is that it has ducts that go up like rounded tunnels, something unique.
Cueva Chapuzon
Next to the entrance there is a waterfall, so sometimes the option to enter is by swimming, but you have to remember the water is very cold and it is not recommended to visit it from July to September.
The passages lead to small galleries that are the habitat of a colony of bats.
It is located in Tala about an hour and a half from Guadalajara.
Cave of the Camachos or Grotto of San Bernarde de Claraval
It is located half an hour from Guadalajara. In general it is easily accessible and it is also a place to practice rappelling.
TAPALPA
Resumidero Toxin
It is located near Tolimán, it consists of an underground river of 10 km in length and you will have to descent for 500-meter (1,640 feet).
It has three entrances, one of them is a narrow passage that the flooding of the river has been reducing, the second is a difficult access and the third is the most used. In this entrance thereis a rappel with a descent of about 4-meter (13 feet) that leads a fossil gallery that joins the stream, 300-meter (984 feet) further, the first 4-meter (13 feet) shaft is located and a short distance away there is another 6-meter (20 feet) shaft. There are several descents that lead to various rooms.
The walls and ceilings of the cavern are well polished by the abrasive effect of the water, beside you will find two underground rivers.
It is located an hour and a quarter from Tapalpa.
