MONTERREY

Cañón del Calabozo (Dungeon Canyon)

It is located very close to La Estanzuela Natural Park, 35 minutes from Monterrey. To get to the canyon, you have to walk through a dense oak forest to the El Cielo waterfalls, where you have to do six rappels next to the waterfalls, the highest is 30 m (98 ft). On the way you have to climb, jump into the water, slide on rocks and walk.

VILLA DE SANTIAGO

Matacanes Canyon

The Matacanes Canyon, located just over an hour and a half from Santiago, is one of the most spectacular in all over Mexico. It has intriguing caves and huge pools of crystal clear turquoise water.

The canyon is reached after a walk through a pine and oak forest and a 28 m (92 ft) waterfall rappel.

The canyon offers 8 km of crystal clear water, turquoise blue pools where you can swim and caverns that will be accessed by rappelling. Along the way there are also waterfalls ranging from 4 to 12 m (13 to 39 ft), two climbs and of course long hikes.

Cañón del Laberinto (Labyrinth Canyon)

It is located in Santa Catarina in the Sierra de Santiago, 25 minutes from Villa de Santiago, near the town of Ciénega de González. It is surrounded by a beautiful forested landscape of pines and oaks and is dry almost all year round, although it has white limestone pools.

It offers an adventure suitable for the whole family that includes walking to reach the semi-aquatic canyon, which can be accessed on foot or with a 35 m (115 ft) rappel. You walk a short way to discover a 60 m (197 ft) zip line.

Cañón Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat Canyon)

It is located in Rayones, almost three hours from Villa de Santiago, at an altitude of 2,160 meters above sea level. This place offers unique geological formations and rappels. To get to the canyon you have to walk for almost an hour where you must rappel to discover this incredible place.

La Rumorosa Canyon

This canyon is also known as El Picorete and is located in Santiago. It is a place that is difficult to access but offers beautiful landscapes, 21 incredible rappels, climbing, swimming, jumping and walking.

 

Cañón El Chipitín (Canyon)

It is located an hour and a half from Villa de Santiago, very close to the town of Potrero Redondo. It is also known as the canyon of the 7 rappels since to reach the canyon you have to make several descents, it is for adventurers who like technical routes.

On the way you have to climb, swim and jump and it ends with two gigantic rappels over the impressive Chipitín waterfall.

Hydrophobia Canyon

It is located 40 minutes from Villa de Santiago, and is one of the least explored places in the area. The tour begins at the Chipitín waterfall and runs for 6 km where water will always be present, since you will enjoy magnificent waterfalls and slides in the midst of incredible forested landscapes. The adventure includes swimming, climbing, walking and various jumps ranging from 2 to 7m (7 to 23 ft).

El Salto Canyon

It is located very close to the El Laberinto Canyon, one hour from Villa de Santiago. It has impressive vertical walls of 100 m (328 ft). You will walk along the river bank until reaching a place where you have to do a 60 m (197 ft) rappel that descends through an incredible waterfall.
