There are several canyons to explore around Guadalajara such as:

GUADALAJARA, TONALÁ AND ZAPOPAN

La Teja

It has water all year round, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 32-meter (105 feet). It is located 40 minutes from Guadalajara.

Cebadilla

It has a lot of water during the rainy season, the upper part is very open with two large waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 82-meter (269 feet). It is located an hour and a quarter from Guadalajara.

Manguito

It has a lot of water during the rainy season, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 70-meter (229 feet).

La Campana

It has a small flow throughout the year, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 95-meter (311 feet).

Salto Seco

It is a canyon that is all open and has a small flow all year round, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 55-meter (180 feet).

Zapotlanejo

The Matatlan Canyon is rather dry and in contrast has a lot of water in the rainy season forming waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 50-meter (164 feet). It is located half an hour from Guadalajara.

Aguacate

This canyon is dry almost all year round and with a lot of water in the rainy season, which makes it dangerous in these months and the highest rappelling height is 60-meter (196 feet).

Pajaritos

It only has water from July to October, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 97-meter (318 feet).

Acatichico

It has some water throughout the year and significant floods from July to September, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 52-meter (170 feet).

El Cañón de Huaxtla

It is located 50 minutes from Zapopan, has water all year round and has several waterfalls, its highest rappelling height is 65-meter (213 feet).

El Cañón Azul Turquesa

It has water all year round with floods from July to September and several waterfalls, its highest rappelling height is 38-meter (124 feet).

El Zarco

It has water only from June to October, it has a beautiful waterfall and its highest rappel height is 25-meter (82 feet).

Camachos

It is located half an hour from Zapopan, it has water all year round, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 35-meter (114 feet).

Platanarillo

It has water all year round, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 30-meter (98 feet).

Sierra de Quilla

The Santa Rosa Canyon with medium flow throughout the year, with several waterfalls, the most important is Santa Rosa with 52-meter (170 feet) and the highest rappelling height is 53-meter (82 feet). It is located two and a quarter hours from Zapopan.

 

Cañón Siete Cascadas

It has water throughout the year that does not increase much with floods, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 50-meter (164 feet).

TAPALPA

El Cañón Salto del Nogal

It has water throughout the year and floods from July to September. It has several waterfalls, the most majestic is 100-meter (328 feet) high and the another is 45-meter (148 feet) high, the highest rappelling height is 70-meter (229 feet).

TEQUILA

Cañón Los Azules

It is an open canyon with a lot of water during the rainy season, waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 75-meter (246 feet). It is located just 10 minutes from the center of the Magic Town.

San Martín

It has water all year round, as well as waterfalls and the highest rappelling height is 75-meter (246 feet).
