Santa Cruz is located on the bay, here you will find glass bottom boats and great sightseeing tours. The waterfront area is lined with shops offering a wide selection of Oaxacan crafts and souvenirs for sale. At the central plaza, around the wrought iron gazebo, locals and tourists mingle to enjoy the weather.

There are also an outdoor theater and two beautiful plazas with cobblestone walkways, fountains and gardens, where you will find very nice restaurants.

The central park has become an in place, where you will find sidewalk cafés, restaurants, shops, and boutiques.

In Crucecita don’t miss the crafts market where you can find a wide variety of colorful pieces. Nearby is a small museum where you can learn a little more about the process of making so many handicrafts for which Oaxaca is known worldwide.

Playa La Entrega

This beach is ideal for sun bathers, scuba divers and snorkelers. With restrooms and showers, you can also enjoy the typical restaurants called “palapas” (huge thatched umbrellas), and the food. Rent a beach umbrella or scuba gear.

Playa Yerbabuena

If you are looking for a perfect place to relax, come to Yerbabuena, where you will have no choice but to leave the world and its worries behind.

Playa Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz offers boat rides, as well as jet ski, scuba and snorkeling gear rentals. Here, you will also find beach wear, nice seafood restaurants and a small dock where you can book a tour to enjoy all the bays. Scuba diving facilities are right on the beach, which is an important ecological zone due to the coral reefs that have made it a favorite snorkeling spot.
