It is one of the oldest parks in Mexico, since it was Porfirio Díaz who declared this region a Protected Park in 1898 under the name of Monte Vedado del Mineral del Chico.

This place of great natural beauty has 2,739 ha, where wooded vegetation prevails along with incredible rock formations, valleys, rivers, and beautiful lagoons.

In this steep mountain range there are numerous hills that, due to the action of the wind and water, have given rise to capricious figures, including those known as "Los Frailes" (The Friars) and "El Contadero" where the rocks have formed intricate labyrinths that challenge your sense of orientation, so we always advise to be accompanied by a guide.

"Las Monjas" (The Nuns) are spectacular rock formations that are surrounded by wonderful nature. Next to "Las Monjas", is the Via Ferrata, a challenge for adventurers where you can explore the great rock formation through stairs, railings, suspension bridges and zip lines; It is also a place to practice mountain biking, rappelling and hiking.

Its valleys are ideal for picnics and you can practice mountaineering, climbing, camping, hiking and many other activities that put you in contact with nature.

In the Reserve there are several tourist centers and recreational parks that offer all kinds of adventure activities.

There are several places worth visiting within the park such as:

Mirador Peña del Cuervo (Viewpoint)

The lookout is located at an altitude of 2,770 meters above sea level, which gives you the chance to enjoy unique views of Mineral del Chico, as well as the El Puente Panoramic Viewpoint.
