COATEPEC
Jalcomulco
In Jalcomulco there is an expedition to see the migration of birds of prey, starting from the Pronatura Bird Observatory, where bird migration is studied. Here you will visit wetlands and low jungle. Located 35 minutes from Coatepec.
Additionally, from Jalcomulco to El Carrizal, towards Coatepec, there are ravines home to local and migratory birds. Some of the local birds are: the picocanoa, the royal toucan, the hummingbird and the purple dove. Both places are good options for rappelling.
CÓRDOBA
Las Cañadas Ecological Reserve
In this reserve you can enjoy a unique landscape, it is one of the few cloud forests that are preserved in the country. Here you can find more than 200 different bird species. Located an hour and a half from Córdoba.
Chocaman
This is a good place for hiking and bird watching. Along the streams and ravines you will find: the bugle, the mockingbird, the woodpecker, the chivicoyo, the chachalaca, the eagle and the canoe beak, among others. Chocaman is located few kilometers from Fortín de las Flores and 15 minutes from Córdoba.
LOS TUXTLAS
In the area of Catemaco and Los Tuxtlas you can find almost 60% of the birds that inhabit the Mexican territory. Among those easily located are: warblers, vireos, toucans, parrots, hawks, and golden finches, as well as endemic birds such as the Tuxtlean partridge dove, long-tailed fandanguero, and nava cuevero.

The state of Veracruz has a great diversity of climates and landscapes and is home to 607 bird species.
Laguna de Mandinga
The lagoon has several estuaries, El Conchal, Horconos and Mandinga, and is home of hundreds of birds such as: blue and white herons, pelicans, seagulls, cormorants, hawks, swifts, ducks and a great variety of migratory birds. Located just 30 minutes from the Port of Veracruz.
La Costa
The Gulf Coast of Mexico is an important migration route for birds. Many species of aquatic and terrestrial birds cross over the coast to reach the hibernation areas.
