Nearby Acapulco there are two magnificent lagoons surrounded by impressive mangroves Coyuca Lagoon and Tres Palos Lagoon, both can give you some of the best birding experience of your life.

You can rent a boat and enjoy your guided tour through any of these two lagoons while you watch lots of the usual Heron, Egret, Cormorant, and Pelican, among many other species.

Another good option for bird lovers is the Botanical Garden.

Further afield you can explore more secluded places such as the Chautengo Lagoon, the Tecomate Lagoon and the Ojo de Agua Las Salinas.
