International Cervantino Festival (FIC)

Date: October 11 to 27

Location: Guanajuato and León, Guanajuato

One of the most important cultural festivals in the world, offering more than 700 activities with over 3,500 artists from nearly 40 countries.

Events include conferences, workshops, readings, dance, a wide variety of concerts featuring different music genres, theater, exhibitions, and more.

Additionally, the festival features initiatives aimed at promoting culture across society, which led to the creation of "Cervantino for All." This initiative includes the Ruelas Project, where underprivileged communities from various cities in the state of Guanajuato are invited to form theater companies that perform at the festival. Another initiative is the Cervantino Academy, which connects young musicians from all over Latin America with renowned international artists, offering them intensive classes, workshops, and rehearsals. There’s also the "Beyond Guanajuato" program, in which the Festival partners with public and private institutions to bring a select number of festival activities to nearly 200 projection spaces across the country.

The festival takes place at various venues such as: the Esplanade of the Alhóndiga de Granaditas, the Ex Hacienda of San Gabriel de Barrera, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guanajuato, the Mines Auditorium, the State Auditorium, the General Auditorium of the University, the Mateo Herrera Auditorium, the Mesón de San Antonio, the Manuel Doblado Theater in León, the María Grever Theater in León, the León Cultural Forum, and the Calzada de las Artes Auditorium in the León Cultural Forum.
