El Cielo was inaugurated in 1997 and designed by the firm of Victor-Langham.
It is a golf course nestled in a mountain, at 2,000 meters above sea level.
It has spectacular views of the Bosque de la Primavera, the Volcán de Colima, the Cerro de Tequila and the Laguna de Cajititlán. The wind and the uneven surface are a real challenge for golfers.
