LINARES
Cerro El Potosí
It is located in Galeana, approximately two and a half hours from Linares. It is the highest hill in the Sierra Madre Oriental with 3,700 meters above sea level. If you are in good physical condition, you can ascend on foot and thus have the opportunity to enjoy the different views that this spectacular place offers you. But there is also the possibility of going up in a truck and only choosing the place to camp.
We recommend you to bring warm clothes because although it is hot in the valley with the altitude the temperature drops drastically.
Paraje Turístico Sabinal
It is located in the municipality of Hualahuises, 21 minutes from Linares. As its name indicates, huge Sabinos trees line the banks of the stream, a very unique landscape. It has a magnificent amping areas and facilities.
La Magueyada Park
It is located in the municipality of Hualahuises, 20 minutes from Linares. It has a landscape of junipers and a river with crystalline water. It offers a camping area, palapas, pools and bathrooms.

GALEANA
Blue Lagoon or Labradores Lagoon
It is located in the municipality of Galeana an hour and a half from Linares. The lagoon is in the middle of an incredible landscape with large green areas where you can camp. You can renta all the equipment that you need for enjoying your camping. It also offeres cabins and sports fields. It is an ideal place for activities such as mountain biking, horseback riding and kayaking.
ZARAGOZA
El Salto Recreational Park
It is located in Zaragoza, three and a half hours from Linares. It is a very nice place to camp with rivers, waterfalls and a beautiful landscape. It is one of the most charming places in the area to be in contact with nature.
Inside the El Salto ecological park there are rustic cabins, palapas, grills, bathrooms and equipment rental for fishing trout in ponds. It is ideal for hiking and mountain biking.
Las Presitas
It is located in Zaragoza, three and a quarter hours from Linares. It offers camping areas, palapas and grills. Additionally you can rent boats to take a ride in the middle of pleasant landscapes.
MONTERREY
Chipinque Park
It has a camping area which is located in the Mesa del Epazote. There is a butterfly farm, a garden with a lake and viewpoints. The climate in the park is cooler than in the city of Monterrey, which is only 20 minutes away.
La Angostura in Hualahuises
It offers an incredible landscape of junipers with a crystalline river. It has beautiful places to camp and some natural pools such as Charco del Indio and Charco del Mecate. It is located 20 minutes from Monterrey.
Potrero Chico
Located in Hidalgo, just 45 minutes from Monterrey, it has beautiful camping areas. There is a water park inside the park with a communal kitchen, bathrooms, showers, grills, and a pool.
Additionally, it is an ideal place for climbing, rappelling and hiking.
El Cuchillo State Park
It is a natural park that offers recreational activities for the family in the middle of a beautiful natural environment. It has camping areas, cabins, grills, bathrooms and palapas. If you like sport fishing this is one of the best places to enjoy this sport and catch a lot of bass. It is located an hour and a half from Monterrey.
La Viga
It is a peak with magnificent landscapes, ideal for those who like mountaineering. To get to the best camping spots you have to walk up a steep slope. There are several ways to climb but in all cases you need permits. It is located two and a quarter hours from Monterrey.
Las Maravillas Winery
It is located in the municipality of García, one hour from Monterrey. It is a totally different experience, since you can camp in a 2 ha vineyard surrounded by a desert landscape.
Here you can also learn more about the technique to produce a good artisan wine. You can participate in the grape harvest, squeezing, processing, bottling and you may be lucky enough to get the harvest.
On Sundays you can live the temazcal experience, as well as tours of the vineyard and tastings.
VILLA DE SANTIAGO
El Manzano Park
It is located just an hour and a quarter from Monterrey. It offers more than 500 hectares of pine and oak forests. This place offers two large areas: Don Sotero Area and La Botella Area.
It has cabins, recreational areas and an area with grills.
Antiguo Aserradero
It is located in Ciénega de González, an hour and a half from Monterrey. It has extensive green areas, cozy cabins and 11 camping areas. They can even provide you with a tent.
Among the activities that you can practice on site are rappelling, canyoning, mountain biking and hiking. Additionally, it has children's games, bathrooms and zip lines.
El Chipitin Waterfall
It is located within the Cumbres de Monterrey National Park, and of course, the biggest attraction is the spectacular waterfall that measures about 90 m (295 ft).
There are several places to camp but many of them have to be accessed in 4 x 4 vehicles, since it is not advisable to camp very close to the waterfall, especially if the water level is high.
Sanchez Lagoon
It is located within the Cumbres de Monterrey National Park an hour and a quarter from Villa de Santiago and two hours from Monterrey. This place is not a lagoon itself, since it only has water when it rains intensely, so at other times it is only a pasture, you can authentically camp on the lagoon.
Ciénega de González
It is located one hour from Villa de Santiago, and is a nice place to camp in the middle of a wooded ecosystem. It has some services such as cabins, grills, bathrooms and drinking water.
La Aldea
It is located half an hour from Villa de Santiago and has huge green areas, playgrounds and beautiful areas for camping. It also offers a barbecue area and is an ideal place for hiking.
La Nutria Cabins and Camp
It has cabins and beautiful areas for camping. It is located in the municipality of Rayones on the banks of the Pilón river an hour and a half from Santiago.
Montaña de Santiago Ecoadventure
It is located in Villa de Santiago and has beautiful green areas for camping. Additionally, you can practice some activities such as hiking, horseback riding, ATV tours and mountain biking.
