Diving in this lake is especially interesting and attractive since you can explore the old town of San José de Tequesquitengo and the church of San Juan Bautista that were flooded since the mid-19th century.
Regarding the diving conditions, visibility is very low or null, so it is necessary to have lamps.
However, to be able to enter the waters and carry out this activity you must take some precautions such as notifying the Port Authority, indicating the time, location and the boat you will use and marking the diving area with red buoys. Also, you cannot anchor in the sunken church area.
