CUAUTLA

You can practice in the blue pool of the Río de las Estacas, a beautiful place with crystal clear waters.

If you want to practice this sport in a safe environment and easily, this is one of the best options in the entire country.

Here there are several diving schools and you can also rent the necessary equipment. There is a 2-day underwater naturalism course for certified divers, as well as basic recreational diving courses. The instructors are certified PADI, CMAS, ILS divers. It is located 40 minutes from downtown Cuautla.

TEQUESQUITENGO

Another excellent option for diving in Morelos is Tequesquitengo where you can explore the old submerged town and enjoy the lake’s warm waters. It is located 40 minutes from downtown Cuernavaca.

Diving in this lake is especially interesting and attractive since you can explore the old town of San José de Tequesquitengo and the church of San Juan Bautista that were flooded since the mid-19th century.

Regarding the diving conditions, visibility is very low or null, so it is necessary to have lamps.

However, to be able to enter the waters and carry out this activity you must take some precautions such as notifying the Port Authority, indicating the time, location and the boat you will use and marking the diving area with red buoys. Also, you cannot anchor in the sunken church area.

There are several specialized centers with qualified guides.
