Fiestas Patrias Ixtapan de la Sal
Date: August 23 to September 16
Location: Ixtapan de la Sal, State of Mexico
The event includes parades with colorful attire along the main streets of the Magic Town’s downtown, the “pepeto and gordita” fair, as well as the performance of Los de la Oficial in the Central Garden.
This fair also features a gastronomic showcase and live music events.
Mariachi and Charrería Festival
Date: August 27 to September 7
Location: Guadalajara, Jalisco
With over 30 years of tradition, the festival always offers an attractive program of music and dance activities, with both national and international participants.
It includes Grand Concerts featuring mariachi groups with musical ensembles, regional Sinaloan music, and the Philharmonic Orchestra.
If you enjoy Mexican festivities, charrería (Mexican rodeo), escaramuzas (equestrian performances), and everything related to Mexican sports, then you should not miss this event.
National Fair of Tijuana

This event offers amusement rides, concerts, Mexican food, and more.
At the Palenque, you can enjoy performances by various artists in a very Mexican style, while at the Audiorama, alternative genres captivate all attendees.
San Pedro Cholula Fair
Date: August 29 to September 15
Location: San Pedro Cholula, Puebla
With more than 70 years of tradition, this fair reflects Puebla’s religious and festive heritage.
The fair begins with the traditional Voladores de Papantla ritual. This ancestral ceremony, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, is one of the most emblematic activities of the event.
The fair is also a patron celebration in honor of Our Lady of Remedies. On September 8, thousands of devotees and pilgrims from different parts of Mexico gather at the church crowning the Great Pyramid, bringing offerings and flowers to give thanks and ask for blessings from the Virgin.
It includes cultural events such as art, photography, and handicraft exhibitions, as well as gastronomic showcases like the Corn Festival.
There are also amusement rides and a variety of live music performances.
Morismas de Bracho
Date: August 31 to September 3
Location: Zacatecas, Zacatecas
This is an ancient tradition carried out by the representatives of the Brotherhood of Saint John the Baptist, in which more than 10,000 actors and street performers participate in the three stages of the Morismas.
The first representation is the beheading of John the Baptist; the second is the reenactment of the battle led by Charlemagne against the Muslims; and the third is the Battle of Lepanto between Christians and Turks, which took place in the 16th century.
The parade takes place along the main streets of the Historic Center.
Enchilada Festival
Date: August 31 to September 7
Location: Cuitláhuac Macroplaza, Iztapalapa, Mexico City
This is one of the top gastronomic events in Mexico City, with more than 20 restaurants offering over 200 types of enchiladas, including mole, green, and red versions, sometimes prepared with exotic ingredients.
The festival also features cultural activities and live concerts with local bands and dance groups.
The highlight of the event is the world’s largest enchilada, with an attempt to break a Guinness World Record — a title already held by this same festival.
International Film Showcase with a Gender Perspective

Festival del Caldo Tlalpeño (Tlalpeño Broth Festival)

This festival brings together various restaurants and markets from the Tlalpan borough, where visitors can enjoy this delicious traditional dish. Activities include the Best Tlalpeño Broth Contest. Entry to the contest is free and open to all ages. The event takes place at Hacienda San Fernando.
National Fair of Zacatecas

Torreón Fair

Fiestas Patrias Dolores Hidalgo

Expomex Fair Nuevo Laredo

Bee Honey and Other Pollinators Expo

This expo aims to promote honey production, beekeeping, and other hive products to encourage consumption, highlight health benefits, and support environmental conservation. It also emphasizes the importance of pollinators in the Conservation Land and Mexico City.

Festival “Son Resistencia”

“Live Your Body” Festival

Held at El Faro del Saber in Parque Salesiano, the festival features: An upcycling workshop with DENNJS to give new life to clothing and a clothing swap. An embroidery workshop with the collective Hilos de Vida to reflect on the relationship with the body. A stencil technique activity to customize tote bags with messages of resistance and sexual autonomy with Paste Up Morras, an anti-patriarchal collective.
It also addresses self-care, self-knowledge, and self-defense with a martial arts workshop by DoJo Wadokan.
Cadereyta Fair, Querétaro

Location: Cadereyta, Querétaro
This patronal fair in honor of Our Lady of Refuge brings together the best of music, culture, gastronomy, and regional identity.
It features live musical performances of regional, cumbia, and pop genres, among others.
There are also amusement rides, craft exhibitions, cultural events, traditional cuisine, equestrian shows, and much more.
Ixtlán Fair

Location: Ixtlán del Río, Nayarit
During the fair, the historic center is decorated with festoons, tricolor flags, and ornaments evoking the spirit of independence.
Highlights include a lively inaugural parade with floats and popular music.
The program also includes agricultural, livestock, and industrial exhibitions, rodeos, folkloric contests, amusement rides, horseback parades, sports competitions, and fireworks.
Evenings come alive with popular dances accompanied by regional bands and guest artists.
Gastronomy and Corn Festival

Held in Santa Ana Tlacotenco, Milpa Alta, this event features traditional dishes prepared by local women cooks, offering a true feast of flavors.

Independent Book Fair in Mexico City

National Corn Festival

Location: Las Maravillas Ecotourism Park, San Miguel Topilejo, Mexico City
A cultural, tourist, and community gathering showcasing the different varieties of corn grown in the region, paired with dishes ranging from traditional to innovative.
Traditional cooks offer a wide variety of foods, from roasted corn with chili powder to garnachas and pan de elote (corn bread).
In addition to gastronomy, the festival features cultural and artistic activities such as folkloric dance, live music, mariachi performances, traditional games, children’s activities, and agricultural exhibitions.
Independence Day
Date: September 15 and 16
Location: Nationwide
These dates mark the celebration of Mexico’s Independence anniversary. In fact, throughout the month, streets and houses are decorated with flags and tricolored ornaments.
On the night of September 15 at 11:00 PM, the "Cry of Independence" takes place. In Mexico City, the president of the Republic leads the ceremony from the National Palace.
The ceremony consists of the president appearing with the national flag and ringing the bell that Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, the Father of the Nation, rang in 1810 in what is known as the "Cry of Dolores," when he called on the people to rise up against the Spanish. After the national heroes have been hailed, a fireworks display and a musical event follow.
This ceremony is replicated in each state at their respective Government Palace, where the governors lead the celebration.
The ceremony holds the most significance in Dolores Hidalgo, where Father Hidalgo called for the revolt to begin, and in Querétaro, where the entire independence movement was planned.
Adventure Book Festival

San Miguel de Allende Fair

Among the main attractions of the 2024 San Miguel de Allende Fair is the People’s Theater, where excellent artists and musical groups perform.
Ironman 70.3 Cozumel

Music Against Forgetting Festival

Location: Ciudad Universitaria, Mexico City
Held on the lawns known as Las Islas in Ciudad Universitaria, the festival presents artists such as EMJAY, Luisa Almaguer, Kevis y Maykyy, Erich, Los Eclipses, Djiby Diabate, Rita Donte, Victoria Sur, Basasa, Cantores del Son, and Que siempre sí.
It is a festival to enjoy live outdoor music.
