Sótano de las Golondrinas is considered one of the most impressive landscapes in San Luis Potosí and the entire country.
It is an enormous bell-shaped cavity with a mouth that is about 80 meters in diameter and a depth of approximately 512 meters, with a free fall of 376 meters. It is considered one of the deepest sinkholes in the world.
The 90-degree limestone cliff only allows descent for professionals with the necessary experience and specialized equipment to carry out such a maneuver.
However, for non-climbers and professional spelunkers, it is also possible to enjoy this natural wonder and witness the enormous number of birds, mostly swallows, constantly fluttering around the sinkhole.
Please note that during peak season, partial closures may occur to avoid exceeding the site's capacity.
