The wind is constant on the Yucatan beaches, it usually blows from the NE.

In the summer it blows an average of 16 knots, while in winter it goes up to 22 knots. In the mornings there is almost no wind and the afternoons are the best time to practice windsurfing.

One of the best places for windsurfing is Progreso. Here you will places to rent gear and it is the venue for important regattas. Other interesting places are El Cuyo and Celestún that offer beautiful scenery but do not have places to rent equipment.
