Nacapule Canyon
It is an authentic tropical paradise in the middle of the desert, which makes its ecosystem different and exotic.
It has magnificent rock formations and walls that reach 80 m (262 ft) in height, as well as springs, palm trees and cacti. The route is quite interesting, since it offers more than 285 different plants and more than 120 species of vertebrates, among which is the chichimoco squirrel, endemic to the area. Located half an hour from San Carlos.
Estero el Soldado
The routes along the estuary are very pleasant because you can enjoy beautiful landscapes and the flora and fauna of the place, a true natural refuge where birders will find hundreds of species, including a flock of roseate spoonbills, making their home in this protected estuary. Located15 minutes from San Carlos.
Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve
Another very interesting option is to take a hike in the Pinacate and Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve and its estuarine area. The tour includes trails, estuaries and craters in the desert.
Tetakawi Hill
Tetakawi is a strenuous hike, but you are rewarded with an impressive panoramic view of the beaches, marinas and mountains of the San Carlos Bay. There are two marked trails to the top of Tetakawi: road-side and beach-side. It will take about 2 hours to go to the top and back.

Cañón de Robinson (La Poza)
It is a true oasis in the middle of the desert with an amazing spring located in the heart of the canyon. This tour has the advantage that you will get to know the desert and when you go up to the canyon you will go through some streams and natural pools where you can swim and take a refreshing break. Located 30 minutes from San Carlos.
Cajón del Diablo
Cajón del Diablo offer an interesting circuit where the beach, mountains and canyons are covered. Located an hour and a quarter from San Carlos.
Las Barajitas Canyon
It is a virgin space made up of almost 1,000 m (3,280 ft) of beach and with an extension of two kilometers, comprising three different ecosystems (semi-desert and subtropical). It has interpretive trails and you can explore its caves. It is also a privileged place for astronomical observation.
