Top places for hiking in Los Cabos are:
San Jose Estuary
This is a natural sanctuary with easy access from the hotel zone of San José del Cabo. The route through the estuary is flanked by huge palm trees and the waters are calm. It is one of the favorite places for bird watching such as frigates, red-tailed hawks, hawks and white herons. In addition, it is an excellent place to enjoy the beautiful sunsets.
Cañón de la Zorra (Fox Canyon)
It is unknown place but is worth a visit. It is located between Cabo Pulmo and Los Cabos. Threre is a trail which takes you up a moderate hike into the canyon.
It is a 3.2 km journey and your final destination is an ethereal cascading 15-meter (49 feet) high waterfall where you can cool off and enjoy nature.
The canyon is located at the base of the Sierra de la Laguna. Along the hiking route through this oasis, you'll encounter fascinating rock formations, lush vegetation, and stunning natural pools with crystal-clear water,perfect for a refreshing dip after the trek.
Santiago Waterfall
This adventure begins in the small town of Santiago. It is a kilometer hike that leads to an attractive waterfall more than 10-meter (35 feet) high and that falls into a small natural pool. This place is excellent to enjoy a picnic.
This is an easy hike good for all kinds of people. A very suitable place for bird watching.
Hiking in Los Cabos

Torres de Satélite (Satellite Towers)
This is a moderately difficult hike that begins in downtown Cabo San Lucas and continues along a trail that climbs the side of the mountain.
Access is not that difficult as it is done gradually at first. However, further on the trail zigzags and is semi steep. The reward is an unforgettable view of the arch and the entire destination.
If you like photography here you can get the most memorable panoramic views of all of Baja.
El Picacho
This tour is through the Sierra de la Laguna that extends to the north of Los Cabos, it is an protected area and a World Heritage Site. This place is one of the favorite places for hikers. You will have to walk more than 24 km (15 mill.) and climb more than 2,100 meter over the sea level (7,000 ft). For this adventure you have to be accompanied by a professional guide. It is challenging but worth every step!
Cañón Costa Azul (Blue Coast Canyon)
It is a 4.7 km journey and you walk on dirt paths and in some sections they become muddy. This hike requires a solid physical conditionbut also mental stamina. You can also live this exprience in a horseback riding.
Cerro del Vigía
Another excellent option is the Cerro del Vigía where you can enjoy a spectacular view where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. The climb zigzags until you reach the top.
El Coyote
This path is 4.3 km long and offers panoramic views. In this hike you will have to climb some slopes, but it is not very difficult. This trail can also be done on horseback.
El Camino Pericu (The Pericu Way)
This tour begins at the foot of the mountain range and will take you to learn more about the history and roots of Los Cabos with a native group called Pericú. On the way, you will visit a small town that dates back to the 17th century and you will have the opportunity to savor a delicious coffee and bread from the region known as "Misionera".
Along the way you will also be able to learn more about the flora and fauna of the desert and cool off in some of the natural pools that contrast in the midst of an arid environment.
Cabo Pulmo
There’s a very rough road that winds up the mountain and it only takes about 30 minutes to reach the top for an aerial view of the national park and the lush landscape of Los Cabos in the distance.
