El Cajoncito
The El Cajoncito stream is a place worth to visit, since you can enjoy the large, intense brown rocks that contrast with the white sand. For those who like to climb they can enjoy an additional adventure.
Cacachilas Ranch
Rancho Cacachilas has developed a network of trails to explore the nearby landscapes of La Paz, which include mountains, oases, rocks, palm trees, and natural springs. There are options of varying degrees of difficulty and with varying distances, including a tour that takes you along a dry riverbed to tour the ruins of old mines.
Rancho Dos Hermanos
You can try the Ciruelo Hike where a specialized guide takes you on a walk of more than 5 km in the middle of the mountains. At the end of the walk you are offered a selection of artisan goat cheeses.
Balandra
The Balandra Flora and Fauna Protection Area has up to six trails that allow the area to be explored.
You can have another perspective of Balandra by walking and enjoying its natural settings where the desert meets the crystalline waters of the sea. This tour can be done at dusk and watch the sunset with the Isla del Espiritu Santo in the background.
Hiking in La Paz

San Antonio and El Triunfo
The old mining towns of San Antonio and El Triunfo are located less than 50 km from La Paz and you can explore and see their large buildings, their large houses and their huge chimneys, vestiges of their mining activity. The largest chimney is known as “La Ramona” and with its 47-meter (154 feet) height it can be seen in the distance.
Sierra de la Laguna
This is one of the most attractive places on the peninsula and has been named a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. It is home to more than 500 species of plants, of which 72 are endemic, the majority being cacti and agaves. It is also the habitat of a large number of mammals and almost 300 species of birds.
For all of the above, it is one of the places that can be explored and enjoyed in all its beauties.
