The waterfalls in Michoacán are not very high, but incredibly beautiful, so you will enjoy rappelling down a waterfall in the middle of a nice landscape.
MORELIA
Ichaqueo Waterfalls
It has a beautiful forested landscape with several waterfalls. The highest is El Salto with a height of 40 m (131 ft.). It is located in Jesús del Monte, 45 minutes south of Morelia.
Chorro Prieto Waterfall
This waterfall is approximately 4 hours from the camping area. But the walk is worth it. It is 200 m (656 ft.) high and at the top there is an observation post with a splendid panoramic view of the hills and mountains of the region. This place is located one hour from Morelia.
Peña Blanca
It is located in the Caracol community and is a huge rock that is nestled in the mountain. It is a place with a unique landscape but it is only recommended for people with a lot of experience given its degree of difficulty.
BEACHES IN MICHOACÁN
Río Toscano
It is located 15 minutes from the community of Arteaga and an hour and a half from Lázaro Cárdenas. The rocky walls are ideal for rappelling.

URUAPAN
Los Chorros del Varal
The seven waterfalls of Chorros de Varal fall from 70 m (230 ft.) high and are 100 m (328 ft.) wide in rainy season during the Summer. It is located 20 minutes from the city of Los Reyes and one hour and 45 minutes from Uruapan.
La Tzaráracua
It has a drop of 40 m (131 ft.) high. It is made up of rocks of volcanic origin, which is why it is one of the best places for rappelling. It is located half an hour from Uruapan.
Pantzingo Ecotourism Center
It has cabins and is the perfect place to enjoy nature and several ativities such as rappelling and zip-lining. It is located in the San Mateo neighborhood in Nuevo San Juan Parangaricutiro, half an hour from Uruapan.
ZITÁCUARO
El Salto del Moro
This waterfall has an approximate height of 30 m (100 ft.). It is located just 5 km from the center of Tuxpan and half an hour from Zitácuaro.
El Salto de Enandio
It is located in the limits of the municipalities of Zitácuaro and Benito Juárez, approximately 45 minutes south of Zitácuaro. It has a waterfall of approximately 160 m high (524 ft.).
Tuxpan
It is a city surrounded by several hills such as Cerro de la Cruz, Cerro de la Campana, Cerros de la Ororicua, Cerro del Puerto and Cerro de la Víbora, the latter is the best option for rappelling with a height of 1,975 meters over the sea level, on the hill you can see capricious stone figures where you can have exciting experiences. It is located half an hour from Zitácuaro.
