Another option is to visit Ría Progreso, part of the State Reserve of Marshes and Mangroves of the Northern Coast of Yucatán. In this area, you can enjoy beautiful landscapes and fish for tarpon in shallow waters. You can also find spotted seatrout, snook, and barracuda.
Chuburná
You’ll need to head approximately 16 meters into open sea to start your fishing experience. If you prefer to stay anchored in one spot, the fishing technique is bottom fishing, which involves a handline with weight and bait. You can also fish while moving in the boat, allowing you to try other techniques, like trolling and casting with a fishing rod, or using live bait with a handline.
This experience allows you to see turtles and a wide variety of sea birds.

Telchac has a marina, boats, and specialized guides for this activity. Here, you can enjoy deep-sea fishing and find species like grouper, white grunt, yellowtail, sawfish, barracuda, cobia, and seasonal fish.
Mérida
At the The Harbor Mérida shopping mall, there is a designated area for children to enjoy a fishing day experience. Kids ages 3 to 12 can have fun in the mall’s amazing indoor lake for 30 minutes."
