This is a place with spectacular rock formations that reach a height of 2960 meters above sea level and serve as a framework for the Magical Town of Mineral del Chico, the rocks have become one of the characteristic symbols of the town.

This place, like many others in the region, has a legend that says that there was a place with a very miraculous saint to whom all travelers came to venerate. However, a pilgrimage of friars and nuns who came from the Franciscan Convent of Atotonilco el Grande decided not to go through that place and as a punishment there was a great earthquake from which the rocks that we can see today sprang up. Therefore, here "the nuns" were petrified and in another place, later on, "the friars" were also turned into rocks.
