El Tecajete is a hill of volcanic origin that is located in the municipality of Zempoala, it has a height of 2890 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by an arid area with a semi-dry climate with an average annual temperature of 14ºC.

The volcano has a large bowl-shaped crater and is mostly covered with scrub.
