It is a small town nestled in the southern mountains of Tabasco.

Here, you can visit the former convent built by the Franciscans in 1633, although it later passed into the hands of the Dominicans. Currently, it has been restored and houses the Sierra Museum, which exhibits items from the colonial era and photographs. The temple has a colorful facade painted in red and yellow and has been designated as a historical monument.

Nearby, you can find the Cuesta Chica Caves, which have been fitted with a staircase of more than 200 steps for easier access. Inside, important Mayan remains have been found, such as a mask and a polychrome piece.
