Since 1998, the building has served as the City Museum.

The museum showcases the history of the island, from its foundation to the present day.

It has a permanent exhibition hall divided into five modules, displaying pre-Hispanic artifacts found in various places on Isla del Carmen, as well as objects from the pirates who plagued the island during colonial times.

There are also photographic, pictorial, and sculptural exhibitions.

It has a children's play area.
