Bucerías is “the place” to practice this sport.

It has more than three kilometers of soft sand, which makes it one of the largest beaches in Mexico. It is currently considered the "wind capital" in Riviera Nayarit. Its waters are shallow and its waves are perfect for kitesurfing. Here you can take classes and in May the famous Wind Festival takes place.

The best time for kitesurfing is from 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm and generally the wind is between 5 and 10 knots.

If the wind is direction W, ON or NO (less than 305º), the best places for kitesurfing are Bucerías and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, and if the wind direction is NO (greater than 305º), it is better to practice it in Nuevo Vallarta or Destiladeras. If the wind comes from the N, the best options are LItibu, Punta Negra and Higuera Blanca.

The best season is from January to June.
