MÉRIDA
Celestún
A kayak trip is a unique way to see the natural beauty of the Ría Celestun Biosphere Reserve. You can explore the mangroves and and be surprised by wonders such as the Petrified Forest and by the infinity of birds, including the wonderful pink flamingos. The best season for you to see the landscape painted pink by the flamingos is from November to April. It is located an hour and a half from Mérida.
Ría de la Carbonera
You can tour the Ría de la Carbonera located in Chuburna until you get the mangrove swamp the habitat of hundreds of birds. You can also visit the spring called Dzul Ha. Located just over an hour from Mérida.
PROGRESO
Enjoying a kayak ride is a pleasant way to discover the grandeur of the estuaries that surround the Yucatán Peninsula. You can paddle along the shores of Progreso or in Ría Progreso, where you’ll paddle through mangroves and tunnels for an unforgettable experience. You can also visit El Corchito, a spring with a great variety of birds.
Ría de Chelem
You can enjoy kayaking while admire the nature and the hundreds of birds like herons, pelicans and cormorants, among others. Located 15 minutes from Progreso.
SISAL
In this Magical Town, you can explore the marsh and the Yucatán coastal nature reserve, which features mangroves and freshwater springs.
It’s an excellent choice if you want to birdwatch and enjoy nature.
The marsh is large and shallow but has a strong current, so you need to be careful and know how to steer the kayak.

EL CUYO
Known as the hidden treasure of Yucatán’s emerald coast, the turquoise waters of the Caribbean mix with the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico, allowing you to paddle along the coast parallel to the shore.

VALLADOLID
Ría Lagartos
It is an arm of the sea that goes into the coast with 10 different types of mangrove. You can enjoy kayaking and watch 395 species of birds, such as: brown pelicans, cormorants, ospreys and herons, among others.
The greatest attraction of the Ría Lagartos is that it is the largest nesting area for the pink flamingo in the Yucatan peninsula. Located 2 hours from Mérida and one hour from Valladolid.
Punta Laguna
You can tour the Punta Laguna, admiring the natural environment that is a protection zone for howler monkeys and spider monkeys. Located one hour from Valladolid.
