La Paz and its Surroundings
You can explore the city of La Paz in a different way, since there are several establishments that rent bicycles by the hour along with all the equipment (helmet, lock, and lights). You can ride along the boardwalk, parks, museums, mills and church.
There are bicycles of all sizes and one of the best times to do this tour is precisely at sunset.
The desert that surrounds La Paz presents a fascinating ecosystem, its flora and fauna have developed endemic characteristics due to the relative isolation of the continental massif.
There are majestic valleys, cardones, primitive cirios and thorny chollas, all of which provide an excellent alternative for those who like biking. Here there is a great variety of roads and sidewalks where you can ride.
Sierra de la Laguna
For the more trained, a good option is the Sierra de la Laguna from where you can see beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez and the Planes Region, where vegetables and fruit trees are grown.
Cacachilas Ranch
Rancho Cacachilas has interesting trails to explore the area with different characteristics and difficulties. Among the options are: the one that leads to the natural spring of Agua Blanca with incredible panoramic views of the Sierra Cacachilas, the Sea of Cortez and Cerralvo Island. There are others that lead to rock gardens, historical places, natural wells and many other natural attractions.
San Antonio and El Triunfo
There is a bicycle tour where you can ride through the mine towns and offered impressive views of former open-cast mining sites, and the huge chimneys, one of them is almost 47 m (154 feet) high and get to know these towns of San Antonio and El Triunfo.
