This impressive canyon has enormous rocky walls that reach a height of more than 400 m and the Moctezuma River runs through its narrow mouth.

Starting in 1990, the Zimapán hydroelectric project was established in this canyon and the Infiernillo Dam was constructed with the highest curtain of its kind in Mexico.

Currently you can enjoy sport fishing tournaments and other natural beauties in the area such as the Epazote Canyon and Cañón de las Brujas (Witches Canyon). There are some restorants in the area where you can enjoy the regional cuisine.
