Central Mexico
It is part of the Santa Elena Canyon National Park and you can drive to the entrance.
You can take this magnificent tour in the middle of 100 m high limestone walls with geometric shapes such as triangles that resemble pyramids, a truly spectacular landscape. In the rocks, if you look closely, you can distinguish some marine fossils.
It exhibits the contrast of two ecosystems: desert and the temperate-cold climate, that is why after walking for approximately 15 minutes, you arrive at an area of springs with completely different vegetation.
In one of these springs the water gushes from above, so it seems that it was raining, which is the reason for its name El Llovedero. It is a contrast with the desert that surrounds it, since the wall from which it sprouts is covered with ferns, lichens and mosses as a carpet.
