The underwater currents and the tranquility of its beaches make Las Hadas an ideal place for free diving.
Visibility ranges from 10 to 30 meters (33 to 100 ft) with temperate waters whose average temperature is 21º C. In both bays you can find coral reefs and in La Boquita there is a shipwreck.

La Audiencia
It is located on the beach of the same name where you can see rocky outcroppings and cracks that can be explored by diving lovers. On the rocks there are many corals and abundant marine life. It is an excellent option for night diving. The maximum depths reach 10 m (33 ft) and its bottom is sandy and rocky. The currents change, in case of calm this is a very good place for first timers. Here you will find rays, browns, angle fish, puffer fish and trumpet fish.
La Boquilla Beach
It offers gentle currents and a bottom with a great variety of corals. Additionally, you will be surprised by the remains of an old ship that was wrecked on the shores of the beach.
L’Recif
This place is located on a beach surrounded by private condominiums and on its coasts the waters have strong and unpredictable currents, so it is for experienced divers. The depth is 20 m (66 ft). Here you will find a wide variety of marine life like octopus, lobster, parrot fish, angel fish, puffer fish and trumpet fish, among others.

Las Brisas Jetty
The breakwater is located to the right of the port entrance. It is an excellent place for beginers because the waters are very calm. This place has colorful corals that are home to aguaja fish, sergeant fish, among many others.
El Carrizal
It is located in a narrow inlet and is 9 m (30 ft) deep. This place offers a beautiful underwater landscape.
La Roca de Elefante (The Elephant Rock)
It is called like this because the formation resembles a pachyderm and it is one of the most popular places to dive because the visibility is generally very good. The surrounding waters are excellent for diving to a depth of 20 m (66 ft), the area is rich in coral formations and you can see large sea snails.
It is for beginners or intermediate divers, but experts also enjoy it because it offers interesting challenges in its tunnels, mountains and hollows. Here it is easy to find angelfish, surgeonfish, pufferfish, zebrafish, parrotfish, rays and moray eels.
Los Frailes (The Friars)
They are a series of rocky cliffs with walls, ledges and canyons, located to the south of Elephant Rock. It is another excellent option, with a depth of 30 m (100 ft) you will find a great variety of corals and multicolored fish. Visibility is generally good. Los Frailes is recommended for expert divers, since it is located in the open sea with strong currents.
Roca Lola
It has wonderful coral formations at a depth of 18 m (59 ft). This place is for beginner and intermediat level divers.
Orejas de Caballo (Horse Ears)
It offers a beautiful landscape with corals at a depth of 18 m (59 ft). It is a place for beginner, intermediate and expert divers. The currents are generally light and you can see angelfish, surgeonfish, catalupa fish and puffer fish, among many others. The biggest attraction are the beautiful rock formations covered by multicolored corals.
La Ahogada
It is a rock that juts out of the sea and is recommended for intermediate or advanced divers because the currents can be quite strong. It is 21 m (70 ft). deep and has a small cave where you can find several schools of grunt fish, jacks, barracudas, rays and moray eels, among others.
Las Pirámides (The Pyramids)
Its name comes from the fact that there are rock pinnacles that are shaped like pyramids. Diving in this place is generally easy and a lot of fun, since it has fascinating marine life. You will find parrotfish, surgeonfish, angelfish and pufferfish, among many others. The depth is up to 30 m (100 ft).
La Cinta del Cobre (The Copper Ribbon)
Its name derives from the fact that there is a copper-colored line that runs close to the shore. It is an ideal place for any level of experience. The depth is 12 m (40 ft) and marine life includes: green and spotted moray eels, octopus, angel fish, cardinal fish and lobsters.
Precio San Luciano
This vessel with a length of 300 m (985 ft) sank in 1959 during one of the most devastating hurricanes that Manzanillo has suffered. It is settled at a depth of 9 m (30 ft) very close to the coast. In this shipwreck you can find sea urchins, boats and a large number of puffer fish, grunts and donkey fish. You can also see octopus and turtles.
El Acuario (The Aquarium)
It is also known as La Coralera and is located in the Santiago Bay, near La Boquita Beach. Here is a large reef with a wide variety of marine life. The waters are very shallow, making it perfect for beginner divers.
La Petatera
This is a natural line of slabs and rocks that have given rise to a beautiful reef. It is for intermediate and advanced divers due to the strong currents. The depth is 20 m (66 ft) and you can see octopus, horse mackerel, lobster, moray eels, rays, parrot fish, triggerfish and cardinal fish.
Tortuga Roca (Turtle Rock)
This rock formation has the clear shape of a turtle and is located near the Peña Blanca. The currents on its coasts tend to be strong, making it an ideal place for drift diving. The depth is 30 m (100 ft) and you can often find turtles on your dives. Despite being more for experienced divers, if the conditions are right it can be a good option for beginner divers.
Punto “V”
This is a rock with a “V” shape . It has a depth of 18 m (59 ft) and the biodiversity is incredible, including all kinds of moray eels, butterfly fish, angel fish and many more. It is an excellent option for a second dive.
Peña Blanca
This is a huge rocky island in the open sea near Playa del Oro. It is a place for advanced divers. The currents are usually changeable depending on the wind and the swell.
The bottom gradually slopes and the dives can be from 15 m to 150 m (50 to 493 ft). It is an area where you can find sharks, giant mantas and, during the winter season, whales. In the depths you can see black corals and volcanic fissures.
