It has been discovered that the coral reefs in the coast of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo are some of the richest in biodiversity in the Pacific Ocean and there some endemic species.

Due to the confluence of two important marine currents, the biodiversity here is extraordinarily rich. Fauna includes everything from sea horses to humpback whales.

It is not difficult to find giant manta rays and whale sharks. From June to October you can also admire the olive ridley turtle.

If you're a beginner, don't worry! You can take the Scuba Diving Baptism Tour,as the coast of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo is the perfect place to start diving. Its waters are usually calm due to minimal currents year-round, and it boasts a rich biodiversity that makes every dive an exciting experience.

Diving Conditions

Visibility in the late spring months in the summer, fall and entering winter is 21 meters (70 feet), in the summer the average is 30 meters (100 feet). The average water temperature per year is 26ºC.

The currents here are minimal compared to the Caribbean. Therefore, instead of being carried away by the current, you can comfortably swim along the coral reefs, making it a photographer's paradise.
