The ravine made up of volcanic rocks has an approximate length of 120 km, which makes it one of the longest ravines.
It is located 16 km from the town of Guachochi. The access is via a dirt road in good condition and the journey takes approximately 20 minutes. This town is located 225 km south of the city of Chihuahua.
The most spectacular viewpoint, Cumbres de Sinforosa, is 1,400 m deep. While the Cumbres de Huérachi viewpoint with 1,830 m is the deepest point.
At its bottom runs the Rio Verde and you can take a spectacular tour to explore it. Although it is not one of the most visited places, because there are important challenges and it is only reserved for experienced explorers.
In the upper part of the ravine, a viewpoint area, there is a forest with various species of pine and oak, and contrasts with the semi-arid landscape of the lower parts of the ravine.
The renowned Los Cañones Ultramarathon takes place here, where several national and international athletes meet to test their resistance and compete against the Raramuri runners. This competition takes place among impressive landscapes.
It has grills, palapas and toilets. You can go down a dirt road in a 4 x 4 vehicle to descend to a suspension bridge.
