While you have to walk through rugged terrain for about 5 km to reach the riverbed, the effort is worth it, as its waters are crystal clear with shades ranging from green to turquoise. The river is surrounded by tall poplar trees and limestone rocks, where you can find incredible orchids and bromeliads.
During the journey, after walking along the riverbank for about 20 minutes (sometimes entering the river at some points), you will come across the Angostura Canyon with amazing pools. Further ahead, there is a beautiful geological formation called Puente de Dios, a cave with enormous stalactites from which thick jets of water emerge, creating a unique landscape.
During the rainy season, when the river level rises, it is not possible to follow the river route due to the strong current.
