North of San José, on the way to Los Barriles and Buenavista, there is a spot that hosts several international competitions each year.

These beaches, and the area in general, are considered some of the best for this sport, as there are constant wind cycles of varying intensity.

The wind cycles change throughout the day; in the mornings, winds blow toward the land at 18 to 25 knots, decreasing as the day progresses, and by the afternoon, they can reach 25 to 30 knots.

The best months are from November to February, when the strong north winds blow.
