The name of this place comes from its resemblance to cacti called "órganos" (organs), and it covers an area of 2,414 hectares.
It is an incredible landscape consisting of a group of volcanic rock formations with whimsical shapes that evoke a prehistoric scenery. The formations challenge the imagination of visitors, who have found shapes resembling castles, cathedrals, cups, bells, whales, eagles, and much more.
It is a place with rich biodiversity where you can find golden eagles, coyotes, wild boars, bobcats, and pumas, to name a few.
Sierra de Órganos is surrounded by forest vegetation that invites you to take walks and engage in various activities amidst beautiful natural settings.
Several films have been shot in Sierra de Órganos, including "The Caveman" with Ringo Starr, "The Guns of Navarone" starring John Wayne, and some classic westerns.
Sierra de Órganos offers cabins, camping areas, a basic supplies store, a handicraft shop, and barbecue facilities.
